MoMA (Museum of Modern Art)

Philip Johnson (original) / Yoshio Taniguchi (addition)
New York, New York

The plain exterior of MoMA is deceiving. The Japanese minimalist Yoshio Taniguchi seems to have built the interior with voids, rather than masses. Varying levels of floors are cantilevered in mid air, creating spaces of massive height and distorting one’s sense of scale.
