Flight 93 Memorial

Somerset County, Pennsylvania

The memorial is located in an isolated field, miles away from but the small civilization. The site commemorates the death of the passengers on Flight 93, the third hijacked flight on September 11th. The plane was headed for the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, but due to resistance of the pilot and the passengers, crashed into an open field in Somerset County, Pennsylvania. The memorial is an open, uninterrupted concrete pathway leading to the white marble wall is inscribed with the names of the victims on the flight. On the other side of the wall is a vast green space.
