Goetsch-Winckler Residence for Alma Goetsch and Katherine Winckler (1939)
The original owners of the house had contacted Wright with visions to create a multiple-housing complex. However, the project did not fall through and only the Goetsch-Winckler Residence was constructed, at a different location than intended. As an early Usonian, Wright implements an in-line plan, with all spaces – carport, living room, dining room, bedrooms, bathroom – aligned side by side.
Wright cleverly hides the gutters in the overhang.
