H. Howard Hyde Residence (1917)
We arrived in an area called Beverly, also known as the Ridge Historic District of Chicago. At first, the owner was suspicious that we were telemarketers, but the owner generously invited us in after telling hearing about our trip. We were surprised at the spacious bedrooms. Wright uses a basic square, formed by the living room and kitchen, and extends the square with a porch, main entry, stairs and a secondary entry on its sides, ultimately forming a rectangular plan. This plan is continued on the second level, thus allowing for generous space in bedrooms.
