Frank Lloyd Wright Home (1890)
HW #77 / Oak Park Tour #1
Frank Lloyd Wright’s own home. The receiving room features eclecticism, with the wall lined with a classical frieze but with large art-glass windows. The most memorable part of the building was his second-story children’s playroom. The space is a light-filled and open double-story vaulted ceiling, with wood trim running along the width of the room to accentuate its depth and light screen along its center. He used to bring his clients there to impress them.
