The stone desert masonry is created by stacking irregular rubble stone in formwork and pouring concrete in, allowing it to dry with the stone finish on the surface. Wright uses the same method with similar materials in his Taliesin West projects. The stone chimney sits heavily on the copper cladded roof. The tight exterior stairwell leading down to the exterior patio was quite austere due to the massive stone wall on one side.
